Our Team

Joshua Alvord – CEO (Chief Envisioning Optimist)

I find deep inspiration in Mohandas Gandhi and the honesty of “Being the Change We Wish to See In the World”!

I received my Architecture Degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  While in San Diego I worked for a mid-sized architecture firm gaining experience with both residential & commercial projects. My passion for architectural design has evolved into a passion for sustainable community development, permaculture design, natural building and nonprofit education work.  The study & practice of yoga brings much joy to my life.

I admire people who dream big, root their toes in the soil and have hearts filled with compassion. I respect those who care about others and the planet.  I look up to those who live boldly and are committed to making this world a better place; including Mohandas Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Thich Nhat Hanh, Martin Luther King Jr.and Mother Teresa.

I believe that peace, harmony & sustainability is possible on this planet; and I enjoy working with people who also believe this.  I look forward to living in a healthy community that practices simple respect for one another & the planet.  My priority in life right now is developing the Local Earth platform & kicking off our first Local Earth Festival in 2013!

  1. Keep my posted on planning toward a 2013 Local Earth Festival. I’d like to consider getting involved in some of the later preparations, and if I shoot video I will already be familiar with some of those brothers and sisters most involved. I would like to suggest that a couple smaller vibrational focus gatherings be held prior to the festival to assist in anchoring it vibrationally. Seeding the larger seed . . .
